Tamilnadu Omnibus Travels Evaluation Using TOPSIS and Fuzzy TOPSIS Methods
(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2022) Vadivel, S.M.; Sequeira, A.H.; Jauhar, S.K.; Chandana, V.
This research uses an effective fuzzy multi-criteria method to evaluate the performance of eight omnibus operators in Tamilnadu, India’s southernmost state (MA). The data was gathered from passengers (regular travelers) and the management of omnibus travel operators. Passengers provided qualitative data, while management offered quantitative data. To estimate the omnibus travels effectiveness, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) technique and Fuzzy TOPSIS were employed to analyze the subjective assessments of both quantitative and qualitative data. Using linguistic concepts, the subjectiveness and inaccuracy of the performance assessment methods are expressed as fuzzy numbers. Traditionally, fuzzy MA models are often used to find the degree of possibility of an alternative of each attribute and sub-attributes to avoid complicated and inaccurate comparisons of fuzzy numbers. Then, grounded on the fuzzy techniques, it is converted into a weighted fuzzy performance index for each alternative. This technique is computationally efficient, and the principles behind it are basic and straightforward to comprehend. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Application of WASPAS Method for the Evaluation of Tamil Nadu Private Travels
(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Vadivel, S.M.; Sequeira, A.H.; Shetty, D.S.; Chandana, V.
The most important and discussion topic is providing a sustainable service to customer in satisfaction on transportation facilities. Tamil NÄ du government has taken much initiatives to introduce more buses, trains in order to satisfy the customers while travelling. Tamil NÄ du (TN) has a huge population and people are expecting more facilities from TN government. Hence, in addition, Private bus travels came into that place to provide customers has better service. This paper aims to assess the performance of eight private bus travels passengers transport company in Tamil Nadu, Chennai. The performance data have been collected from both managers and frequent travelling passengers. The quantitative data collected from travels managers whereas qualitative data collected from passengers. These quantitative and qualitative have been analyzed with WASPAS a MCDM techniques. A novel MCDM technique known as WASPAS (Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment) proposed in this study. The overall systematic algorithm for determining the best private bus travels company has been illustrated in step-by-step basis for further enhancement. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Performance Evaluation of Manufacturing Product Layout Design Using PROMETHEE II - MCDM Method
(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Vadivel, S.M.; Sequeira, A.H.; Kumar, V.; Chandana, V.
The manufacturing layout of the plant was carefully analyzed in order to integrate the materials, labour, and machinery needed to process a product as efficiently as possible. The aim of this is paper is to analyze and asses the various proposed layout through Preference Ranking for Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE) a MCDM algorithm. Here, we have considered three quantitative factors such as Material Flow Factor Cost (MFFC) and Shape Ratio Factor (SRF) and Area Utilization Factors (AUF); qualitative factors such as lean service, ergonomics and workplace environment. Here, the aim is to find out feasible layout in terms of enhancement in operational performance. Initially, we have created 18 alternative layout design using Computer aided Design (CAD) model. After careful analysis from the implementation point of view, we have taken only four alternative which was proper and feasible to implement. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

An Ergonomics Assessment in India Post Manual Sorting Centre Using EDAS – A MCDM Approach
(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Vadivel, S.M.; Sequeira, A.H.; Umoh, U.; Chandana, V.
Since workplace circumstances have improved over the past ten years, machining workloads have dramatically decreased in several industries. Due to the operators’ increased responsibilities, there are also increased cognitive demands on the individual. Any diversion or loss of focus results in subpar work or harm to people. The goal of the current study is to evaluate ergonomic concerns regarding the physical and cognitive demands placed on postal employee operators, such as scanners, sorters, managers, and stampers, who operate in post office environments. The study uses a survey and a pain scale to evaluate physical discomfort on a subjective basis. Utilizing questionnaires, cognitive demand as reported by the employee was assessed in a multitasking work environment that calls on a variety of skills. In the body, the lower leg, shoulder, neck, and back were named as key areas that cause discomfort. More people become aware of the higher cognitive demand they are experiencing as a result of the different skill needs. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Application of VIKOR Method for Green Postal Sustainable Service Design
(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Vadivel, S.M.; Pranamya, B.; Arivazhagan, P.; Sequeira, A.H.; Chandana, V.
To survive in the market, it is imperative that the public postal service facilities adopt sustainable principles. This paper objective is to analyze the sustainability validation through VIšekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR) method to assess the three India post service operations such as NSH Mangalore, NSH Mysuru and RMS Chennai. Finding consumer variables (questions) that influence the Service Quality (SQ) design/dimensions of postal service in three areas, such as design (4 attributes such as service innovation, comfortable working layout, green construction, product innovation), sustainability (5 attributes – energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, workplace environment, green purchasing, effective utilization of water resource), and authority, aims to encourage sustainability aspects (4 attributes-technology adoption, standardization, strict reinforcement, periodic quality assurance check). This survey will be useful in determining how India Post can continue to be strategically viable for the foreseeable future. It offers its customers nationwide logistical services through a wide-ranging network. This study enhances the Southern region of India's postal service quality design. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Apartment Waste Disposal Sustainable Facility Location Using ENTROPY Method
(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Vadivel, S.M.; Palanivelu, S.; Sequeira, A.H.; Chandana, V.
Global organizations are concerned about sustainability. The Triple Bottom Line (TBL) strategy, which focuses on the environment, society, and economy, has been extensively discussed in the literature to address sustainability. Apartment garbage is inherently dangerous and contagious for the environment and society, making its appropriate disposal a crucial duty for waste management companies. Therefore, in the current study, the criteria connected to the sustainability’s TBL, including other criteria, have been discovered via literature analysis and field survey for the placement of urban apartment waste disposal facility in order to make it sustainable and economical. Additionally, ENTROPY was employed to conduct this study. As a result, the current work contributes theoretically, in terms of criteria, as well as methodologically, to the choice of a location for a waste disposal plant that is sustainable. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
