Item Assessing for Online Teaching Effectiveness Using VIKOR Method During Covid Pandemic Times(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2024) Vadivel, S.M.; Sivakumar, K.; Praveena, L.; Sequeira, A.H.; Abhinav, A.The aim of this article is to evaluate the three university students, X, Y, and Z, by analysing their online effective teaching using the VIšekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR) approach. Identifying appropriate characteristics (surveys) that affect the online teaching assessment, such as instructional strategies, learning environments, teacher-student engagement, video quality, assessment of instruction, learning impact, and level of home-college collaboration. This poll will be helpful in assessing these colleges’ comprehension of online courses taught during pandemics. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.Item Modular Kitchen Layout Design Using AHP Method – An Indian Case Perspective(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2024) Vadivel, S.M.; Suganya, P.; Devanathan, C.; Sequeira, A.H.; Abhinav, A.This study uses the AHP technique to assess and choose the best facility layout based on cooking practices, work environment, and ergonomics (anthropometric) factors. This study will be beneficial in determining ways to minimize the cooking time in light of facility layout changes. We initially developed four logical layouts based on the survey, which were approved by all family members, neighbors, relations, friends, and working women in the apartment to be evaluated under various performance layout schemes. Four alternative layouts, three performance criteria were taken into consideration in this Facility Layout Design (FLD) problem. The analysis of the FLD was conducted in Park Avenue, Vijay Shanthi apartments, Chennai, Southern India. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.Item Valuation of Trash Management in Railway Compartment Using ENTROPY – A MCDM Method(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2024) Vadivel, S.M.; Eswaran, A.; Praveena, L.; Shetty, D.S.; Abhinav, A.Indian train routes are the most fashionable open-space project in India, but they have a starting problem with prodigal waste association frame. This is a problem with dry and wet garbage being transported inside of moving trains, along road tracks, and over involved rail courses. Typically enough, India has 7000 pilgrim trains that carry 23 million people. In India, the 16000 km square area surrounding the train course track has not been destroyed in any way. According to estimates, 6289 tonnes of plastic enter India’s rail rails on a regular basis. Other than the usual impurity, this enormous season of garbage is causing terrible clinical problems. We have done empirical research while travelling from Chennai to Mangalore regarding this issue. This study effectively and comprehensively deals with the enormous dry and wet garbage disposal within the moving train. In addition to helping to maintain the trains and rail course tracks clean, this will assist with the assessment dustbins disposal inside of trains in terms of passengers perspective. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.Item Sustainable and Green Supplier’s Evaluation Using TOPSIS and Fuzzy TOPSIS Methods(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2025) Vadivel, S.M.; Shetty, D.S.; Eswaran, A.; Loganathan, K.; Abhinav, A.This study evaluates the efficacy of substitute selection at ABC Automobile Company in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, using a realistic fuzzy multi-criteria method. While management provided quantitative data, employees provided qualitative data. Fuzzy TOPSIS and the TOPSIS technique were used to examine subjective assessments of both qualitative and quantitative data in order to calculate the cost-effectiveness of sustainable supplier selection. Performance evaluation systems’ subjectivity and imprecision are represented by fuzzy numbers that are derived from linguistic notions. Fuzzy MA models are widely used to ascertain the degree of likelihood of each characteristic and sub-attribute, avoiding complex and inaccurate comparisons of fuzzy values. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.Item An ANN Approach for Measuring Operational Performance Efficiency in India Post Service Industry(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2025) Vadivel, S.M.; Khosla, S.; Devanathan, C.; Sequeira, A.H.; Abhinav, A.In this study, the authors proposed Artificial Neural Network (ANN) as a decision making tool for India post service operational excellence, Karnataka, southern part of India. Though the concept of lean system bundles has been excellent results in the service sector, implementing in the postal service has been taken up as a new challenge. The performance has been validated based on Lean Service Practices (LSPs), Lean Workplace Environmental Practices (LWEPs), and Lean Social Practices (LSoPs) on Operational Performance (OP). Results can be deriving specific conclusions. As per our expectation, it is observed that ANN gives promising of ranking the decision making units. Here, we have used radial based function model. The expense of implementing lean was around INR 2 lakhs. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.Item Chennai Apartment’s (BHK) Facility Layout Design and Evaluation Using Genetic Algorithm(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2025) Vadivel, S.M.; Sankaran, M.; Devanathan, C.; Sequeira, A.H.; Abhinav, A.The Apartment 2 or 3 Bedroom, Hall and Kitchen (BHK) layouts are a carefully thought-out method to incorporate home furnishings, family accommodations and extra amenities for maximizing a family member’s pleasure. Based on volume measures and inter-department distances, the flat layout problem (FLP) is an optimization problem that aims to ascertain the form and placement of different departments within a layout. One of the main techniques now employed for the optimization of these flat layouts is the CRAFT algorithm. The objective is to use this method to analyze and evaluate the many modular flat layouts that have been offered. Lowering the layout’s overall cost is the aim. The distance between the departments and the flow of humans will determine this. Additionally, an effort has been made to use GA to optimize the layout. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
