Item Modeling of power demands of electric vehicles in correlated probabilistic load flow studies(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2017) Bhat, N.G.; Prusty, B.R.; Jena, D.In this paper, extended cumulant method (ECM) is applied to probabilistic load flow analysis. Input uncertainties pertaining to plug-in hybrid electric vehicle and battery electric vehicle charging demands in residential community as well as charging stations are probabilistically modeled. Probability distributions of the result variables such as bus voltages and branch power flows pertaining to these inputs are accurately approximated; and at the same time, multiple input correlation cases are incorporated. The performance of ECM is demonstrated on the modified IEEE 69-bus radial distribution system. The results of ECM are compared with Monte-Carlo simulation. © 2016 IEEE.Item Optimal Sizing, Placement and Performance Analysis of DSTATCOM with Improved Controller without Current Sensors(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2021) Saralaya, S.; Manjunatha Sharma, K.The performance analysis of Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM), when it is placed in an optimized location with an improved controller without current sensors is presented in this paper. To obtain optimal location, Ant colony optimization technique is used for the placement of DSTATCOM. To incorporate this compensator in load flow analysis, the modelling is done and rating of DSTATCOM is obtained. The performance analysis of improved controller is presented after placing the DSTACOM in optimized location with optimized size. The actual voltage at bus where DSTATCOM is placed and DC voltage of the converter is taken as control parameters. The proposed optimization placement technique is tested for 207 bus practical distribution system using MATLAB. The performance analysis of studied systems with controller for different operating scenarios such as sag, swell are investigated in MATLAB/SIMULINK software environment. © 2021 IEEE.Item Impact Analysis of Optimal Placed DSTATCOM with Distributed Generation Sources(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2025) Saralaya, S.; Sharma, M.K.One of the devices used to enhance the distribution system's power quality is DSTATCOM. The effective operation will be impacted by their positioning and dimensions. The ACO approach is used in this study to arrange and to find the size of DSTATCOM. Power quality problems will increase as distribution generators are added to the distribution system. This paper presents the effects of DSTATCOM and distribution generators on distribution systems under various operating conditions. The system is examined under various conditions, and the outcomes show how the voltage profile improves and line losses decrease. © 2025 IEEE.
