Computer interaction based on voluntary ocular motility for the physically challenged
    (2013) Ram, S.; Kalwad, P.
Ocular Motility is a promising mode of input for human computer interaction. However, we are yet to engineer an application that is cost-effective, robust, user-friendly and far reaching. In this paper we describe an eye-controlled application which will be beneficial to the physically challenged community. Even people who can move only their eyes can use this with ease. This works on principles of Image processing and translates the eye movements into mouse commands, thereby enabling the physically challenged to interact with a computer. A user friendly graphical user interface has been developed to demonstrate the merits of eye controlled input as a natural mode of human-machine interaction. © 2013 IEEE.

Kinect Based Real Time Gesture Recognition Tool for Air Marshallers and Traffic Policemen
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2017) Prakash, A.; Swathi, R.; Kumar, S.; Ashwin, T.S.; Guddeti, G.R.M.
The Microsoft Kinect which is a motion sensing input device presents a very straightforward and affordable approach to facilitate real-time user interaction. Although a lot of research has been conducted on the application of Kinect to gaming and virtual reality environments, its relevance to real-world scenarios has not been explored much. The features provided by the driver platforms such as OpenNI and Microsoft Kinect Software Development Kit (SDK) for development using Kinect coupled with the motion sensing ability of Kinect, presents a unique opportunity for extending the scope of the Kinect sensor. This paper proposes a system for automatically recognizing the road traffic control gestures of police officers and air marshalling commands by ground personnels. This system is aimed for selflearning, training and testing these officers to equip them with the skills to tackle real-world situations. Since these applications are very crucial and performing accurate gestures are of at most importance, this system will prove to be very essential. Experimental results also demonstrate that our system is robust and effective and is suitable for real-time application. © 2016 IEEE.

User centered inclusive design for assistive technology
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2017) Nayak, S.K.; Chavan, N.S.; Srinath, N.
An user-centered inclusive design approach has been presented for the design and development of assistive technology for the disable and aged with an emphasis on the visually impaired. The paper further elucidates, with the help of an exemplary prototype, the application through modification of existing home appliances particularly the refrigerator prevalently by adding relevant features based on user feedback with dynamically analyzed and cost effective electro-mechanical mechanisms. © 2016 IEEE.
