Item India Post Service Facility Layout Design Selection and Evaluation Using MCDM Approach(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Vadivel, S.M.; Sanjai, S.; Siri, S.; Sequeira, A.H.This study uses the AHP technique to assess and choose the best facility layout based on technical practices, work environment, and ergonomics factors. This study will be beneficial in determining ways to improve operational performance in light of facility layout changes. We initially developed six logical layouts based on the field survey, which were approved by all shop floor staff, managers, and postal administrations to be evaluated under production performance layout schemes. Six alternative layouts, three performance criteria, and 13 sub-criteria were taken into consideration in this Facility Layout Design (FLD) problem. The analysis of the FLD in shop floor postal layouts yielded amazing results. This empirical investigation was conducted in India's southernmost National Sorting Hub (NSH) Mysore, Karnataka. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.Item Application of VIKOR Method for Green Postal Sustainable Service Design(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Vadivel, S.M.; Pranamya, B.; Arivazhagan, P.; Sequeira, A.H.; Chandana, V.To survive in the market, it is imperative that the public postal service facilities adopt sustainable principles. This paper objective is to analyze the sustainability validation through VIšekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR) method to assess the three India post service operations such as NSH Mangalore, NSH Mysuru and RMS Chennai. Finding consumer variables (questions) that influence the Service Quality (SQ) design/dimensions of postal service in three areas, such as design (4 attributes such as service innovation, comfortable working layout, green construction, product innovation), sustainability (5 attributes – energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, workplace environment, green purchasing, effective utilization of water resource), and authority, aims to encourage sustainability aspects (4 attributes-technology adoption, standardization, strict reinforcement, periodic quality assurance check). This survey will be useful in determining how India Post can continue to be strategically viable for the foreseeable future. It offers its customers nationwide logistical services through a wide-ranging network. This study enhances the Southern region of India's postal service quality design. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.Item Apartment Waste Disposal Sustainable Facility Location Using ENTROPY Method(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Vadivel, S.M.; Palanivelu, S.; Sequeira, A.H.; Chandana, V.Global organizations are concerned about sustainability. The Triple Bottom Line (TBL) strategy, which focuses on the environment, society, and economy, has been extensively discussed in the literature to address sustainability. Apartment garbage is inherently dangerous and contagious for the environment and society, making its appropriate disposal a crucial duty for waste management companies. Therefore, in the current study, the criteria connected to the sustainability’s TBL, including other criteria, have been discovered via literature analysis and field survey for the placement of urban apartment waste disposal facility in order to make it sustainable and economical. Additionally, ENTROPY was employed to conduct this study. As a result, the current work contributes theoretically, in terms of criteria, as well as methodologically, to the choice of a location for a waste disposal plant that is sustainable. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.Item Assessing for Online Teaching Effectiveness Using VIKOR Method During Covid Pandemic Times(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2024) Vadivel, S.M.; Sivakumar, K.; Praveena, L.; Sequeira, A.H.; Abhinav, A.The aim of this article is to evaluate the three university students, X, Y, and Z, by analysing their online effective teaching using the VIšekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR) approach. Identifying appropriate characteristics (surveys) that affect the online teaching assessment, such as instructional strategies, learning environments, teacher-student engagement, video quality, assessment of instruction, learning impact, and level of home-college collaboration. This poll will be helpful in assessing these colleges’ comprehension of online courses taught during pandemics. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.Item Modular Kitchen Layout Design Using AHP Method – An Indian Case Perspective(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2024) Vadivel, S.M.; Suganya, P.; Devanathan, C.; Sequeira, A.H.; Abhinav, A.This study uses the AHP technique to assess and choose the best facility layout based on cooking practices, work environment, and ergonomics (anthropometric) factors. This study will be beneficial in determining ways to minimize the cooking time in light of facility layout changes. We initially developed four logical layouts based on the survey, which were approved by all family members, neighbors, relations, friends, and working women in the apartment to be evaluated under various performance layout schemes. Four alternative layouts, three performance criteria were taken into consideration in this Facility Layout Design (FLD) problem. The analysis of the FLD was conducted in Park Avenue, Vijay Shanthi apartments, Chennai, Southern India. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.Item Valuation of Trash Management in Railway Compartment Using ENTROPY – A MCDM Method(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2024) Vadivel, S.M.; Eswaran, A.; Praveena, L.; Shetty, D.S.; Abhinav, A.Indian train routes are the most fashionable open-space project in India, but they have a starting problem with prodigal waste association frame. This is a problem with dry and wet garbage being transported inside of moving trains, along road tracks, and over involved rail courses. Typically enough, India has 7000 pilgrim trains that carry 23 million people. In India, the 16000 km square area surrounding the train course track has not been destroyed in any way. According to estimates, 6289 tonnes of plastic enter India’s rail rails on a regular basis. Other than the usual impurity, this enormous season of garbage is causing terrible clinical problems. We have done empirical research while travelling from Chennai to Mangalore regarding this issue. This study effectively and comprehensively deals with the enormous dry and wet garbage disposal within the moving train. In addition to helping to maintain the trains and rail course tracks clean, this will assist with the assessment dustbins disposal inside of trains in terms of passengers perspective. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.Item Sustainable and Green Supplier’s Evaluation Using TOPSIS and Fuzzy TOPSIS Methods(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2025) Vadivel, S.M.; Shetty, D.S.; Eswaran, A.; Loganathan, K.; Abhinav, A.This study evaluates the efficacy of substitute selection at ABC Automobile Company in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, using a realistic fuzzy multi-criteria method. While management provided quantitative data, employees provided qualitative data. Fuzzy TOPSIS and the TOPSIS technique were used to examine subjective assessments of both qualitative and quantitative data in order to calculate the cost-effectiveness of sustainable supplier selection. Performance evaluation systems’ subjectivity and imprecision are represented by fuzzy numbers that are derived from linguistic notions. Fuzzy MA models are widely used to ascertain the degree of likelihood of each characteristic and sub-attribute, avoiding complex and inaccurate comparisons of fuzzy values. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
