Multiple aggregator multiple chain routing protocol for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks
    (2013) Harichandan, P.; Jaiswal, A.; Kumar, S.
Wireless sensor nodes are deployed to gather useful information from the field but their constraint on battery power leads us to think about energy efficient routing protocols so that they can operate over longer periods of time. We study the advantages of having multiple chains in a network with each chain's topmost node (called the aggregator) collecting the data from the nodes beneath it and transmitting it to the sink. In the proposed scheme, a chain in each region works as PEGASIS. We also study how considering heterogeneity in the network can improve the lifetime of a network by a significant period. We assume that a fraction of the nodes in the network possess additional energy. We show by simulations that the introduction of heterogeneity into the network results in a greater lifetime, compared to those of the classical data aggregation schemes, with the duration increasing with the amount of additional energy considered. © 2013 IEEE.

Enhanced Framework for IoT Applications on Python Based Cloud Simulator (PCS)
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2016) Jaiswal, A.; Domanal, S.; Guddeti, G.R.
As innovation develops, more human-made devices are able to communicate with each other by means of Internet. This enables the Internet of Things (IoT) era to emerge. The amount of information generated by IoT applications can overpower computer infrastructures which are not prepared for such a huge data hence they need more CPU cycles. Distributed computing offers a solution at infrastructure level that eases such problems by offering highly scalable computing platforms. This necessitates arranging the framework on demand to meet invariant changes which applications require, in a pay-per-use mode. Current methodologies empowering IoT applications are area specific or concentrate just on communication between devices, therefore they can not be effectively deployed to different domains. To address this issue, in this paper, we present a data centric framework for advancement of IoT applications executed in python based cloud simulator. The framework handles association with information sources, information filtering and use of cloud resources including provisioning, load balancing, and planning thus enabling developers to concentrate on the application logic and encouraging the advancement of loT applications. © 2015 IEEE.

Hand gesture-based stable powerpoint presentation using kinect
    (Springer Verlag service@springer.de, 2018) Kumar, P.; Jaiswal, A.; Deepak, B.; Guddeti, G.
Recent trends in the development of interactive devices provide a better human–computer interaction (HCI) experience in various domains, e.g., academics, corporate world, teaching-assistant tools, and gaming. Presently sensors and camera-based applications are the area of interest of many researchers. In this paper, we mainly focus on developing natural hand gesture-based presentation tool for controlling PowerPoint presentation with more efficiency and stability. In order to provide stability during presentation using Microsoft Kinect, this paper proposes a novel idea of locking and unlocking for recognition of gestures. A comparative study has been done by considering three parameters namely viewer’s interest, frequency of movements, and overall stability during presentation. Results show that gesture-based presentation system provides better experience to both presenter and viewer as compared to traditional system. Further, there is no need of any extra device such as mouse or keyboard while presenting. This tool can also be used for development of other related applications. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.
