Load balancing in cloud computing using modified throttled algorithm
    (IEEE Computer Society help@computer.org, 2013) Domanal, S.G.; Guddeti, G.
Load balancing is one of the critical components for efficient operations in the cloud computing environment. In recent years many clients from all over the world are demanding the various services at rapid rate. Many algorithms have been designed to carry out the client's request towards the cloud nodes. Accordingly the cloud computing platform will dynamically configure its servers and these servers may be present physically or virtually in the computing environment. Hence, selecting the virtual machines or servers has to be scheduled properly by using an appropriate load balancing approach. In the present work, a local optimized load balancing approach is proposed for distributing of incoming jobs uniformly among the servers or virtual machines. Further, the performance is analyzed using CloudAnalyst simulator and compared with existing Round Robin and Throttled algorithms. Simulation results have demonstrated that the proposed algorithm has distributed the load uniformly among virtual machines. Primary education for the specially-abled
    (2013) Chandra, S.; Sagar, M.; Rout, P.; Khattri, P.; Domanal, S.G.; Guddeti, G.
Technology can support the children who require special needs, who if given the proper training and opportunity, can compete on a basis of equality with their peers. This should be the basic philosophy of a programmer who designs programs, standards for programs, or evaluation of programs. Proper education for these children will lead to enhancing their capability to lead a dignified life and also help them to earn a square meal. Technology is needed to teach them and hence the necessity can clearly be seen for further research and development in this field. In addition to software being used as teaching tools at schools and at-home, the learning process should be more interesting so that child should feel engaged. A daily routine, not only a syllabus/homework, using technologies such as text to speech conversion and image morphology is needed to both help them understand concepts of classroom syllabus and motivate them to learn more at home as specially-abled children need to be given enough motivation, as well as time, to succeed. The system developed proves to be useful to specially-abled children to memorize rhymes, recognize common sounds (like that of animals) as well as develop haptic abilities using a game like interface. © 2013 IEEE.

A state transition based approach to recognize gestures using multi level color tracking
    (2013) Alse, S.; Eligar, S.; Domanal, S.G.; Guddeti, G.
Gesture recognition is one of the most challenging tasks in Human computer interaction and it has wide range of applications. Here we propose a gesture recognition system which does not involve training the machine in order to detect simple gestures. The proposed technique involves multi level color (color inside color) tracking where region of interest (ROI) is found with respect to the outer color and then with respect to the next inner color and so on. Then the technique involves State transition based approach to recognize gestures where the tracked data is broken down into a sequence of transitions which determine a gesture. This technique is used to develop Jarvis[8], an open source project to control Linux systems using gestures and object tracking. © 2013 IEEE.

Optimal load balancing in cloud computing by efficient utilization of virtual machines
    (2014) Domanal, S.G.; Guddeti, G.R.M.
Load balancing is the major concern in the cloud computing environment. Cloud comprises of many hardware and software resources and managing these will play an important role in executing a client's request. Now a day's clients from different parts of the world are demanding for the various services in a rapid rate. In this present situation the load balancing algorithms built should be very efficient in allocating the request and also ensuring the usage of the resources in an intelligent way so that underutilization of the resources will not occur in the cloud environment. In the present work, a novel VM-assign load balance algorithm is proposed which allocates the incoming requests to the all available virtual machines in an efficient manner. Further, the performance is analyzed using Cloudsim simulator and compared with existing Active-VM load balance algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm distributes the load on all available virtual machines without under/over utilization. © 2014 IEEE.

Vision based laser controlled keyboard system for the disabled
    (Association for Computing Machinery, 2014) Ahsan, H.; Prabhu, A.; Deeksha, S.D.; Domanal, S.G.; Ashwin, T.S.; Guddeti, G.R.M.
In this paper, we have proposed a novel design for a vision based unistroke keyboard system for the disabled. The keyboard layout considers the commonly used character patterns, which makes it convenient for the user to type. In addition to this, Shift functionality is provided to accommodate a larger set of characters. A webcam is positioned so as to monitor the keyboard and the characters are identified based on the laser pointer which the user can control by minor head movements. Experimental results demonstrate that the design achieves very promising results, thus establishing a baseline for such models in this domain. © 2014 ACM.

An android GPS-based navigation application for blind
    (Association for Computing Machinery, 2014) Nisha, K.K.; Pruthvi, H.R.; Hadimani, S.N.; Guddeti, G.R.M.; Ashwin, T.S.; Domanal, S.G.
Visual Impairment makes the person depend on another person for all his works and daily chores. Through the application proposed in this paper, we aim to eliminate this dependency of a visually impaired person when travelling from one place to another. The main goal is to provide information regarding the current location, how much distance and time is required to reach the destination as well as provide the user with the directions and turns to be taken while travelling by providing continuous audio feedback in his understandable language. © is held by the author/owner(s).

A novel bio-inspired load balancing of virtualmachines in cloud environment
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2015) Ashwin, T.S.; Domanal, S.G.; Guddeti, G.R.M.
Load Balancing plays an important role in managing the software and the hardware components of cloud. In this present scenario the load balancing algorithm should be efficient in allocating the requested resource and also in the usage of the resources so that the over/underutilization of the resources will not occur in the cloud environment. In the present work, the allocation of all the available Virtual Machines is done in an efficient manner by Particle Swarm Optimization load balancing algorithm. Further, we have used cloudsim simulator to compare and analyze the performance of our algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm distributes the load on all the available virtual machines uniformly i.e, without any under/over utilization and also the average response time is better compared to all existing scheduling algorithms. © 2014 IEEE.

Memory-based load balancing algorithm in structured peer-to-peer system
    (Springer Verlag service@springer.de, 2018) Raghu, G.; Sharma, N.K.; Domanal, S.G.; Guddeti, G.
There are several load balancing techniques which are popular used in Structured Peer-to-Peer (SPTP) systems to distribute the load among the systems. Most of the protocols are concentrating on load sharing in SPTP Systems that lead to the performance degeneration in terms of processing delay and processing time due to the lack of resources utilization. The proposed work is related to the sender-initiated load balancing algorithms which are based on the memory. Further to check the performance of the proposed load balancing algorithm, the experimental results carried out in the real-time environment with different type of network topologies in distributed environment. The proposed work performed better over existing load balancing algorithm such as Earliest Completion Load Balancing (ECLB) and First Come First Serve (FCFS) in terms of processing delay and execution time. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.
