The dielectric resonator (DR) with metallic strips on the top surface is excited by a slot aperture feed that excites two orthogonal modes to provide circular polarization. The proposed CP RDRA does not require any complex-shaped dielectric resonator and simplifies the overall design. A prototype of the proposed antenna has been fabricated and validated. It has measured impedance bandwidth between 4.8 and 5.6 GHz and 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth between 5.1 and 5.43 GHz. The axial ratio beamwidth of more than 155° in the XZ and YZ planes is obtained. © 2022 Wiley Periodicals LLC.BandwidthDielectric resonatorsElectric impedanceMicrowave antennasMicrowave filtersWireless local area networks (WLAN)Axial ratioCircularly-polarizedDegenerative mode rectangular dielectric resonator antennaDielectric-resonator antennasMetallic stripsRectangular dielectric resonatorsSlot apertureStrip loadsTop surfaceWLAN applicationsCircular polarizationCircularly polarized rectangular dielectric resonator antenna with metallic strips load for WLAN application
