The proposed Radome consists of an A-Sandwich structure which consists of two skins with high dielectric constants and a core in between them with a low dielectric constant as compared to the skin. The skin of the Radome has been made using Quartz Cyanate Ester with ε = 3.2, Ï = 1198 Kg/m3 and core consists of Rohacell-110WF with ε = 1.16, Ï = 110 Kg/m3. An FSS structure has also been introduced between the skin and core on both sides to reject frequencies that do not fall in the desired operating spectrum. The FSS structure incorporated in the Radome structure resembles a split ring resonator structure. For testing the characteristics of the Radome material, a 10 x 10 mm2 unit cell has been designed with core and skin material to evaluate the desired operating frequency by analyzing the S<inf>11</inf> of the unit cell. The simulation and Design have been done using ABAQUS and CST (Computer Simulation Technology). © 2024 IEEE.A-Sandwich RadomeFSSTangent OgiveX-BandA-Sandwich Tangent Ogive Radome Operating in X-Band for Airborne Applications
