The main works on colorimetric/fluorimetric chemosensor sensing mechanisms and their application in cyanide and arsenite detection are summarized and highlighted. This book chapter categorizes cyanide sensors based on their structure, while arsenite sensors are segregated based on their detecting mechanism strategies.
