This paper presents a novel approach for implementing Binary Phase Shift keying (BPSK) modulator and demodulator using Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer (CORDIC). The CORDIC is used in rotation mode for modulator and in vector mode for the demodulator. For the sake of comparison, the modulator and demodulator have been implemented using three different architectures. From the results, it is inferred that, pipelined multiplexer based CORDIC modulator-demodulator is more speed efficient and unpipelined multiplexer based CORDIC modulator-demodulator is more hardware efficient. 2014 IEEE.en_US
