This paper presents fuzzy logic based power system stabilizer (FLPSS) for damping low frequency oscillations and enhancing power system dynamic stability. The proposed FLPSS uses two inputs, ie, changes in shaft speed (? ?) and acceleration (??). These input signals are first characterized by a set of linguistic variables and then, control action is inferred using fuzzy rules in rule base.. Finally, the fuzzy control output is converted into a numerical value using a defuzzifier. The effectiveness of FLPSS is demonstrated by extensive simulation carried out on a single machine infinite bus (SMIB) system.en_US
