dc.description.abstractA magnetically recoverable symmetric teradentate Schiff base cobalt complex immobilised silica-coated Fe<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf>nanoparticles exhibited efficient oxidation of the alcohols to carbonyls with mild H<inf>2</inf>O<inf>2</inf>oxidant. Reverse coprecipitation method yielded superparamagnetic Fe<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf>at room temperature. The nanocatalyst exhibited good recoverability without significant loss in activity and selectivity within successive runs. © 2016 American Scientific Publishers. All rights reserved.
