With the increasing energy demand and larger interconnections between systems, the loop flow problems may arise naturally limiting the reliable system operations. FACTS Controllers, such as TCSC, SSSC and TCPAR, have the ability to control the power flow, which make them utilize for preventing loop flows in interconnected systems. This aspect has been studied in this paper. The modeling of FACTS controllers by current injection approach in load flow studies using Newton-Raphson technique, is introduced. A case study of the IEEE 14-bus test system, which focuses on solving loop flows by TCSC, SSSC and TCPAR is presented. 2015 IEEE.en_US
