This paper presents a novel framework for placement of base stations (BS)s. A generalization of Voronoi partition is used, where, a set of node functions are used in place of the usual distance measure. Functions modeling the effectiveness of BSs at different locations in the region are used as node functions, and the locations of BSs as nodes or sites. Further the base stations are assumed to be heterogeneous and anisotropic. © 2011 IEEE.
