Abstract

This chapter bestows a summary of the carbon dioxide capture by aqueous ammonia with membrane technology. Usage of hollow fiber (HF) contactor for carbon dioxide capture with aqueous ammonia is a promising alternative technology to traditional absorption columns. The advantages of HF membrane such as an increased surface area to volume ratio, high packing density, higher flux, less fouling and easy to clean and aqueous ammonia bestow hybrid technology, which can offer a better mass transfer. In this chapter, the importance of HF membrane contactor with aqueous ammonia as an effective method for carbon dioxide capture including different liquid absorbents, mass transfer in HF membrane contactor, and different modules are critically discussed. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
