The present work investigates the role of process parameters on the wear property of friction surfaced Al 6061 coating on Al 2024 substrate material. For this study, after many optimization experiments, four samples with different friction surface forces were prepared. Several mechanical and metallographic characterizations were conducted on the samples that including hardness analysis, metallographic analysis using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, elemental analysis using energy dispersive spectroscopy, and phase analysis using X-ray diffraction spectroscopy technique. From the results, it is found that the hardness, as well as wear property, has been improved with the increase of friction surfacing force. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc..
