Abstract
This paper addresses a two-stage power supply system for electrical vehicle battery chargers. The first stage comprises of a boost converter integrated with phase lock loop for power factor correction. In the second stage, an isolated push-pull converter regulates the power provided to the battery. The boost converter operates in continuous conduction mode, having two control loops. Push-pull converter is controlled using a PI control loop to charge the battery in constant current mode. The proposed converter configuration is simulated using MathWorks SIMULINK environment. Simulation results of the proposed system shows that the input AC supply power quality comply with the limits specified in IEC 61000-3-2 standard. © 2022 IEEE
