Abstract
In this paper, the dynamic modeling of a doubly-fed induction generator-based wind turbine connected to infinite bus (SMIB) system, is carried out in detail. In most of the analysis, the DFIG stator transients and network transients are neglected. In this paper the interfacing problems while considering stator transients and network transients in the modeling of SMIB system are resolved by connecting a resistor across the DFIG terminals. The effect of simplification of shaft system on the controller gains is also discussed. In addition, case studies are presented to demonstrate the effect of mechanical parameters and controller gains on system stability when accounting the two-mass shaft model for the drive train system. © 2016 IEEE.
