Item Low power continuous time common mode sensing for common mode feedback circuits(2010) Pramod, M.; Laxminidhi, T.Continuous common mode feedback (CMFB) circuits having high input impedance and low distortion are proposed. The proposed circuits are characterized for 0.18 ?m CMOS process with 1.8 V supply. Simulation results indicate that the proposed common mode detector consumes no standby power and CMFB circuit consumes 27-34% less power than previous high swing CMFB circuits. © World Scientific Publishing Company.Item Influence of 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-oxoethyl benzoate on the hydrogen evolution and corrosion inhibition of 18 Ni 250 grade weld aged maraging steel in 1.0 M sulfuric acid medium(2012) Sanatkumar, B.S.; Nayak, J.; Nityananda Shetty, A.N.Electrochemical corrosion behavior and hydrogen evolution reaction of weld aged maraging steel have been investigated, in 1.0 M sulfuric acid solution containing different concentrations of 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-oxoethyl benzoate (CPOB). The data obtained from polarization technique showed that the corrosion current density (i corr) and the hydrogen evolution rate decrease, indicating a decrease in the corrosion rate of weld aged maraging steel as well as an increase in the inhibition efficiency (?%) with the increase in inhibitor concentration. Changes in impedance parameters were indicative of adsorption of CPOB on the metal surface, leading to the formation of protective film. Both activation (E a) and thermodynamic parameters (?G ads 0, ?H ads 0 and ?S ads 0) were calculated and discussed. The adsorption of CPOB on the weld aged maraging steel surface obeyed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) study confirmed the formation of an adsorbed protective film on the metal surface. © 2012, Hydrogen Energy Publications, LLC. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of the gel polymer showed an unusual tubular array type surface morphology. FTIR, DSC and TGA results of the GPE indicated good interaction between the components used. Highest ionic conductivity and lowest activation energy values were 2.2 × 10-3 S cm-1 and 0.18 eV, respectively. Dielectric studies revealed ionic behavior and good capacitance with varying frequency of the GPE system. The fabricated supercapacitor showed a maximum specific capacitance value of 186 F g -1 using cyclic voltammetry. Variation of temperature from 273 K to 293 K did not significantly influence the capacitance values obtained from AC impedance studies. Galvanostatic charge-discharge study of supercapacitor indicated that the device has good stability, high energy density and power density. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. In this paper, we investigate the role of p-type dopant 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (F4TCNQ) in the charge transport properties of N,N'-Di(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-(1,1?-biphenyl)-4,4?-diamine (?-NPD) through sequential deposition. We show that the hole injection into ?-NPD increases with the increase of interlayer (F4TCNQ) thickness by correlating the current density-voltage, capacitance-voltage, capacitance-frequency and impedance measurements. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. The field dependent mobility of the charge carriers is determined using frequency dependent capacitance, conductance and impedance methods by varying the thickness of ?-NPD. The Poole-Frenkel zero-field mobility and the Poole-Frenkel coefficient thus obtained for each device in all the three methods is found to be almost constant. © 2015 Elsevier Ltd. In this paper, we report the fabrication and electrical characterization of two diodes ITO/VOPc/MoO3/Al and ITO/VOPc/Al. We investigate the electrical conduction of Vanadyl phthalocyanine (VOPc) in both the devices and also the effect of MoO3 as a buffer layer. Improvement of current density through the device is estimated using current density - voltage characteristics and capacitance - voltage characteristics. Space charge limited current (SCLC) conduction with an exponential trap distribution is observed from Impedance measurements. The dominant hopping charge transport is discussed based on ac conductivity measurements and by adopting Correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. Ionic conductivities and dielectric studies were carried at different temperature with varying concentration of H3PO4 using AC impedance method. The highest conductivity was 8.1 × 10-4 S cm-1 at 343 K and a long tail was featured in dielectric studies indicating good capacitance nature of the electrolyte. Interactions between added constituents were observed in FTIR and differential scanning calorimetry studies. Thin and compact fabricated supercapacitor demonstrated specific capacitance of 64 F g-1 using cyclic voltammetry. Furthermore, the supercapacitor properties like AC impedance and charge-discharge were studied. Stability was up to 96% at 1000th cycle. POLYM. ENG. The dc and ac electrical conductivity of Vanadyl phthalocyanine based devices is investigated by employing Impedance spectroscopy measurements. The frequency dependence of conductivity indicates that the dominant mechanism for charge transport is the hopping type. Further, the dependence of conductivity on temperature and bias voltage clearly indicates that the hopping mechanism is described by the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model. The thin layer (3 nm) of MoO3 in our devices is seen to enhance the electrical conductivity. J-V measurements indicate that the current density J as well as the charge carrier mobility are higher for the devices fabricated at a relatively lower deposition rate (0.1 Å/s). Our results suggest that the VOPC films deposited at lower rates are more appropriate for the optoelectronic device applications. © 2016 Elsevier B.V.Item A Zero Index Based Meta-Lens Loaded Wideband Directive Antenna Combined with Reactive Impedance Surface(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2018) Majumder, B.; Kandasamy, K.; Ray, K.P.In this paper, an aperture efficient wideband high-gain patch antenna is designed using a novel multilayer-based metamaterial structure combined with a reactive impedance surface (RIS)-backed patch antenna. The metamaterial unit cell is a two-layer structure which is stacked one after other to form the overall unit cell. The microscopic behavior of the proposed unit cell has been investigated. This unit cell gives low refractive index over a wide bandwidth with a negligible loss. An RIS-backed patch antenna has been designed in the required frequency band to feed the multilayer zero-index metamaterial medium. The introduction of this surface is to provide unidirectional radiation over a wideband in the zero refractive index region. The proposed antenna gives a 14% fractional bandwidth over the $C$ - and $X$ -bands. The proposed antenna enhances the peak gain of the conventional patch antenna by an amount of 8.5 dB at 8 GHz. Finally, the antenna has been fabricated and its performance is verified experimentally. © 2013 IEEE.Item Influence of ceramic top coat and thermally grown oxide microstructures of air plasma sprayed Sm2SrAl2O7 thermal barrier coatings on the electrochemical impedance behavior(Elsevier B.V., 2018) Baskaran, T.; Arya, S.B.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technique is used to examine the top coat and thermally grown oxide (TGO) microstructures of Samarium Strontium Aluminate (SSA) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) after exposed to pre-oxidation and oxidation at 1050 and 1100 °C, respectively. EIS spectra showed that the three relaxations frequencies in Bode plot corresponded to SSA top coat, TGO, and TGO-bond coat interface. A significant reduction in polarization resistance of SSA top coat and increase in capacitance for different pre-oxidation times of 10, 20 and 30 h are being found due to increasing the defects (pores and cracks) of about 13, 29 and 45%, respectively at 1050 °C. The reduction in bi-axial residual stresses was calculated to be about 57% as a consequence of decrement in top coat resistance. The growth of SSA TGO was found from 10 to 20 h of pre-oxidation treatment caused to decrease the capacitance which indicates the presence of highly enriched ?-Al2O3 at the bond coat-top coat interface. The highest charge transfer resistance and lowest capacitance were found to be about 0.48 × 106 ? cm2 and 1.1 nF cm?2 respectively for 20 h of pre-oxidation which could reflect the overall impedance kinetics of TBC system (SSA top coat and TGO) at the TGO-bond coat interface. The impedance responses of SSA top coat, TGO, and TGO-bond coat interface were reduced drastically after oxidation at 1100 °C for 10 h pre-oxidized specimen as compared to 20 and 30 h due to the compositional change of pure ?-Al2O3 based TGO into more conductive NiCr2O4. The lowest diffusion coefficient, DCr3+ in the NiO lattice which reduced the formation of metal ion vacancies at the TGO-top coat interface caused to exhibit higher TGO resistance for 20 h pre-oxidized specimens over 10 and 30 h after oxidation at 1100 °C. © 2018 Elsevier B.V.
