Item Emerging Advancements in Sustainable Entrepreneurship: A Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric Analysis(Springer Nature, 2023) Mishra, R.; Kiran, K.B.Entrepreneurship has been recognized as a crucial driver for a nation’s economic growth, wherein the entrepreneurs exploit social and environmental assets to generate financial gains, making them accountable to the community and the environment. The current state of the environment, the socioeconomic divide, and insufficient access to resources and opportunities are the primary concerns. Recent academic works have highlighted the concept of sustainable entrepreneurship as a solution to minimizing the negative effects of entrepreneurial industries on environmental deterioration and social inequality. Scholarly interest in this field has grown in recent years as a result of its ability to incorporate the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. However, there is still a lack of awareness and understanding of nature and the future of sustainable entrepreneurship in both theory and practice. Therefore, this systematic review paper along with the bibliometric analysis aims to show how sustainable entrepreneurship has changed after the introduction of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on recent research trends. This literature review will reveal the trend and ascertain the future directions for novel and senior researchers in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2023.Item Recent Technological Developments in the Tourism Industry: A Bibliometric Analysis(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2024) Talawar, A.; Sheena, S.; Alathur, S.The tourism industry has witnessed substantial technological advancements in recent years because of the rapid growth of information and communication technologies (ICT). Previous literature indicates that most of the research has been focused on comprehending the application of various technologies in the tourism sector and their impact on consumer behavior. However, no bibliometric studies are undertaken to analyze the relevant publications, the effect of technology and the emerging trends in technology within the tourism industry. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis to explore and evaluate these developments. Therefore, the study performed a bibliometric analysis of 1430 published research articles from the Scopus database for the period 2018–2022. The bibliometric analysis involved a performance analysis and science mapping of the publications using the Bibliometrix R package software. The results indicate an increasing trend in publications and the year 2022 recorded the highest number of articles published. The study found that Law R., Buhalis D., and Gretzel were the most productive authors in the last five years. Moreover, the analysis showed that the top ten journals accounted for one-third of the total publications. The conceptual structure indicated that the well-developed topics are represented by keywords such as innovation, Covid-19, tourism development, and destinations. Furthermore, the intellectual structure revealed three unique clusters indicating the theoretical foundations within tourism research, smart tourism and value co-creation in tourism. Finally, this study will benefit academicians and tourism marketers to gain insights into technological advancements and emerging trends in tourism research. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.Item The Advancements of Artificial Intelligence in Tourism and Hospitality Industry: A Bibliometric Review(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2025) Talawar, A.; Sheena, S.; Alathur, S.Technological advancements have progressed dramatically in recent times, with artificial intelligence (AI) emerging as a disruptive force reshaping various industries worldwide. AI has revolutionized multiple sectors by offering enhanced customer experiences, optimized processes, and personalized services. In the tourism and hospitality (T&H) industry, AI-driven technologies such as chatbots, virtual assistants, conversational service agents, and ChatGPTs allow travelers to plan their journeys and navigate travel complexities. Due to the rapid development and growing interest in AI applications within the T&H domain, the study conducts a bibliometric analysis to investigate the recent advancements of AI research in the T&H field, identify prominent and emerging research themes, and offer future research directions. A total of 343 documents published between 2018 and 2024 were retrieved from the Scopus database and analyzed using the Bibliometrix R tool. The findings reveal a growing trend in AI research in the domain, with journals such as the “International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management†and “Annals of Tourism Research,†which have been influential in AI literature. Key keywords identified include robotics, machine learning, chatbots, service robots, ChatGPT, and smart tourism, highlighting AI’s diverse applications. The co-word analysis revealed several themes, such as AI-driven robotics and automation addressing COVID-19 challenges, advanced computing techniques and immersive technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality offering enriched travel experiences. Finally, bibliometric review provides new insights for tourism organizations and researchers, emphasizing the transformative impact of AI advancements in T&H research. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.Item Interrelationship between trade and environment: a bibliometric analysis of published articles from the last two decades(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2023) Padhan, L.; Bhat, S.Extant literature indicates that the concepts of international trade and the environment are intertwined. There is a plethora of theoretical and empirical research studies that explore the relationship between the two concepts. However, no bibliometric attempts have been made to analyze these publications to understand the current research trends in the trade and environment regulation/protection/policy intersection. Hence, the present study conducted a bibliometric analysis of 1390 research articles collected from the Scopus database from 2000 to 2021. The study accomplished performance and science mapping analysis using Bibliometrix and VOSViewer software. The study shows an increasing publication trend. The most productive country was the USA (259 publications with 8400 citations), and the most productive institution was the University of California (33 publications). The study found that Cole MA was the most relevant author in this area by considering multiple matrices. By using keywords, conceptual structure, and bibliographic coupling analysis, the study suggests that future studies can be conducted on climate change, carbon leakage, climate policy, environmental protection, air pollution, economic growth, carbon dioxide emission, emission trading, abatement cost, environmental performance, green supply chain management, composition effect, carbon footprints, and multi-regional input-output model. The current study provides scholars and practitioners interested in trade and environmental interlinkages with a comprehensive overview of the domain by presenting readers with significant studies, authors, universities, concepts, and sources. Further, the study results will be helpful for scholars to get insights into the current research development trends and research themes in the trade and environmental regulation field. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.Item An integration of information communication technologies and entrepreneurial ventures: a bibliometric analysis and future research directions(Emerald Publishing, 2025) P, A.; Mohan, B.C.Purpose – This study outlines the key research areas, recent trends and future research directions in information communication technologies (ICTs) enabled entrepreneurship, as research activities on ICTs in entrepreneurship have gained significant momentum in recent decades, driven by technological advancements and business innovativeness. Design/methodology/approach – In this paper, we used a bibliometric systematic literature review, including citation, co-citation and keyword analysis of 182 documents published from 2005 to 2024 and exported from the Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases. We have also utilized bibliometric coupling analysis to determine emerging themes in this area. Findings – The most productive year was 2023, and the most productive journal, institute and country are the “Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, ” “Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications” and the UK, respectively. The “Journal of Enterprise Information Management” is the most influential journal. A future research direction is proposed based on the six emerging clusters and identified gaps. Research limitations/implications – The study is based on the exclusive use of the Scopus and WoS databases, which could be expanded to other databases. Only articles were considered, excluding book chapters and conference papers. Originality/value – The study is distinctive as it recognizes the intellectual structure and advancement in ICT-enabled entrepreneurship. By comprehensively reviewing the existing literature, the study proposes a novel conceptual framework to serve as a foundation for future studies, offering significant insights for academics and practitioners to navigate the evolving landscape of this area. © 2025 Emerald Publishing LimitedItem Self-healing bacterial concrete: A bibliometric overview and state-of-the-art review on fundamentals, techniques and future perspectives(Elsevier Ltd, 2025) Ranjith, A.; Das, B.B.The augmentation of micro-cracks in concrete is unavoidable, and under varying external ambience, such cracks have the potential to cause concrete deterioration due to the ingress of deleterious substances. The utilization of bacteria enabled self-healing methods displayed promising outcomes in the sealing of such minute cracks, offering considerable benefits and reducing the need for human intervention. From this point of view, this article aims to provide comprehensive review of the existing literature on bacteria based self-healing concrete using Bibliometric analysis. The critical evaluation of the significant features that have a notable impact on the self-healing efficacy of cementitious composites incorporating bacteria is presented. These factors encompass primary aspects involving bacteria selection, healing conditions, influence of crack width, effect of pre cracking, influence of carrier compounds etc., emphasizing their significance on the healing performance. Also, the improvement in mechanical and durability properties through the utilization of bacteria-enabled cementitious composites for self-healing purposes is scrutinized. Furthermore, the performance of bacteria based self-healing concrete in aggressive environments like corrosion and carbonation exposure are critically reviewed. Additionally, this article delves into research on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in relation to bacteria enabled self-healing concrete. Finally, suggestions for future research directions and practical implementations in this domain are put forward. © 2025 Elsevier LtdItem Publication trends in literature on eBooks: a Scopus based bibliometric analysis(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd. Howard House Wagon Lane, Bingley BD16 1WA, 2018) Kolle, S.R.; Shettar, I.; Mallappa, M.; Parameshwar, G.S.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the global scientific outputs on eBooks research using Scopus database. Design/methodology/approach: This study collected literature published during 2001-2016 from the Scopus database. Following keywords were used: “eBook*”, “e-Book*”, “electronic book*” or “online book*” in title or keyword or abstract with time span covering 2001 to 2016. The authors further restricted their search limit to subject category of social science, computer science and arts and humanities. A total of 2,965 documents were found from the search strategy, including 1,582 research articles. Articles were considered for the analysis using Microsoft Excel 2007. The bibliometric analysis was performed to analyze the document types, language, publication output, citations, authorship pattern, journals, prolific authors, productive countries and most frequently appeared top words/phrases from the title of the articles. Findings: Literature on eBooks grown exponential and eBooks was the hot topic of the research in recent decade. Most of the articles were contributed by the single authors, and the USA and the UK were the most productive countries; however, in recent times, Taiwan has also joined them. The articles published in the year 2009 have recorded highest citation rate. Publishing Research Quarterly was the most productive journal, which has published 61 articles on eBooks, followed by the Electronic Library (59) and Library Hi Tech News (35). Korat O. was the most productive author on eBooks research who was affiliated to Bar-Ilan University, Israel. The researchers were keen on investigating the experience of use of eBooks, reader, impact, challenges, access, reading habits and usage of the eBooks. Originality/value: This is the first kind of study to quantify global research patterns and trends in eBooks, which might provide a potential guide for the future research. © 2018, Emerald Publishing Limited.Item Bibliometric Analysis and Methodological Review of Mobile Health Services and Applications in India(Elsevier Ireland Ltd, 2021) Pai, R.R.; Alathur, S.Purpose: The purpose of this research is to analyze the literature published on mobile health (mHealth) in the Indian context. It also reviews the most important research works and presents various methodologies adopted by the researchers in this domain. Design/methodology/approach: The SciVerse SCOPUS database was used for extracting the literature on mobile health. The study used articles published between January 2008 to 28th June 2019. The keyword used is ‘mHealth’ and journal articles with studies or interventions carried out in India were selected for bibliometric analysis and methodological review. Findings: For the keyword search, a total of 7,874 documents have been extracted, of which only 158 have been considered for the analysis. There is an exponential increase in the number of publications from the year 2015 to 2019. The keywords used for representing their articles have been grouped as mobile health devices, gender and age groups, system and software, health and disease condition, management, evidence-based practices (outcome), methods, and importance of the study. The journal PLOS One (87) has the highest number of citations, followed by The Lancet (63). The bibliometric analysis of the literature revealed seven clusters classified as individual's individual's mobile health applications adoption characteristics, need for mobile health and its governance, mobile phone application with the internet of things based framework for healthcare monitoring, mobile health for primary healthcare systems, authentication and security protocol for mobile healthcare, development and experimentation of mobile health application, and development and mobile health for adherence support intervention. Originality/Value: The study contributes in analyzing the bibliometrics and provides a methodological review for the journal articles published on mobile health. Previous articles considered systematic analysis of the bibliometric for mHealth, and mobile technology but less adequately discussed specifically towards Indian context which this study has embraced. © 2020 Elsevier B.V.Item Logistics Service Quality in Online Shopping: A Bibliometric Analysis(Routledge, 2023) Dhaigude, S.A.; Mohan, B.C.This paper outlines the main areas and latest developments of logistics service quality (LSQ) in the context of business to consumer (B2C) online shopping and proposes future research directions. More specifically, this paper has three objectives: What is the status of research of LSQ in B2C e-tailing? Which themes involving the field are the most popular among scholars? What are the possibilities for future research? This study examined a sample of 177 papers from the Scopus and ISI Web of Science databases to find research activity on LSQ in B2C online shopping between 2001 and early 2021 using bibliometric analysis. The methodology involves selecting, analyzing, and classifying 177 papers into authors, journals, time, focus areas, keywords, country, citation, co-citation, and thematic distribution analysis. Four major themes have emerged, LSQ for integrating traditional retail with omnichannel retail; LSQ and inventory management; LSQ and supply chain collaboration and LSQ transformation to E-LSQ. It gives researchers and scholars information to help them work on new developments of LSQ in B2C e-tailing and create strategies, models, and structures for increasing firm performance and customer satisfaction. © 2021 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
