Item Cloud-Based E-Learning Service: Insight from India(Springer, 2020) Vanitha, P.S.; Alathur, S.The factors influencing the adoption of a cloud platform in the development of e-learning service is identified in this study. The e-learning service based on a cloud platform is analyzed from single/multiple data center dimensions. In spite of developing e-learning infrastructure, the service of the cloud platform is often adopted. The cloud-based e-learning simulation environment is created using CloudAnalyst tool. The efficiency of the cloud is analyzed based on e-learning hosted on a single data center and multiple data centers. The service time and overall response time of the datacenter are analyzed through CloudAnalyst. The infrastructure cost estimation for both models is also calculated. The study identifies that these factors influence the development of e-learning services in a cloud platform. Earlier studies less analyze the influencing factors of the online courses in the cloud environment. In future research, the cost factor can also be considered in the development of e-learning services. Fewer studies are reported on e-learning service based on a cloud platform in the Indian context. The current study demonstrates how cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) improves the performance of the e-learning system. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2020.Item E-learning services: Insights from Twitter Analytics(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2019) Vanitha, P.S.; Alathur, S.Electronic learning is a formalized teaching-learning service using electronic resources. With the help of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), knowledge can be shared via the Internet anywhere, anytime. Although, the massive growth of technologies available, e-learning service may not distribute equally in developing countries like India. The objective of the study is to explore the technological challenges of e-learning services in the Indian context. In the present study, the real-Time feedback about the technological challenges is collected directly from Twitter social media. Initially, the tweets were extracted based on the hashtags, and the location-based analysis is performed using geocoding. In this study, various types of technological challenges are identified, and the most influential factor is determined. It gives better results when this research is carried on developing countries like India. The suggestion provided in this research will help to decrease the technological challenges in the e-learning service. © 2019 IEEE.Item E-learning adoption based on gender differences: Insight from India(Inderscience Publishers, 2020) Vanitha, P.S.; Alathur, S.Aim of this study is to explore the adoption of e-learning across gender. This study identifies how the factors influence e-learning adoption based on gender. The theories pertinent to gender difference are reviewed. Using a quantitative questionnaire survey method, 425 responses were collected from various higher education institutions from southern India. Using this data set acceptance of the hypothesis on e-learning adopted among different gender was statistically reported. Partial least square-structure equation model (PLE-SEM) is carried out to find the similarities and dissimilarities among male and female users in e-learning adoption. The current research focused on two dimensions: learner and technology. Further research can focus on the economy, religion and other possible factors. Earlier studies less reported on influence on the e-learning adoption based on different genders in India. Therefore, the current study focus on gender-based e-learning adoption in the Indian context. © © 2020 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.Item Factors influencing E-learning adoption in India: Learners' perspective(Springer, 2021) Vanitha, P.S.; Alathur, S.In the era of electronic-learning 3.0, existing dimensions related to technologies and learner are not adequately explored while discussing e-learning adoption. In the current study, technology and learner dimensions are converged to overcome this insufficiency in analysing e-learning adoption. Earlier studies have reported less about e-learning adoption in higher education through the users' lens. System parameters and learner attributes were derived from theories of information systems and literature on learning theories. To validate the research model, 704 responses were collected through a questionnaire survey from India, where e-learning is gearing up. The present article utilised Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), which describes the relationship between constructs in the research model. The study identifies technology and learner dimension factors that influence e-learning adoption in developing countries like India.
