Item E-learning services: Insights from Twitter Analytics(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2019) Vanitha, P.S.; Alathur, S.Electronic learning is a formalized teaching-learning service using electronic resources. With the help of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), knowledge can be shared via the Internet anywhere, anytime. Although, the massive growth of technologies available, e-learning service may not distribute equally in developing countries like India. The objective of the study is to explore the technological challenges of e-learning services in the Indian context. In the present study, the real-Time feedback about the technological challenges is collected directly from Twitter social media. Initially, the tweets were extracted based on the hashtags, and the location-based analysis is performed using geocoding. In this study, various types of technological challenges are identified, and the most influential factor is determined. It gives better results when this research is carried on developing countries like India. The suggestion provided in this research will help to decrease the technological challenges in the e-learning service. © 2019 IEEE.Item Assessing mobile health applications with twitter analytics(Elsevier Ireland Ltd, 2018) Pai, R.R.; Alathur, S.Introduction: Advancement in the field of information technology and rise in the use of Internet has changed the lives of people by enabling various services online. In recent times, healthcare sector which faces its service delivery challenges started promoting and using mobile health applications with the intention of cutting down the cost making it accessible and affordable to the people. Objectives: The objective of the study is to perform sentiment analysis using the Twitter data which measures the perception and use of various mobile health applications among the citizens. Methods: The methodology followed in this research is qualitative with the data extracted from a social networking site “Twitter” through a tool RStudio. This tool with the help of Twitter Application Programming Interface requested one thousand tweets each for four different phrases of mobile health applications (apps) such as “fitness app” “diabetes app” “meditation app” and “cancer app”. Depending on the tweets, sentiment analysis was carried out, and its polarity and emotions were measured. Results: Except for cancer app there exists a positive polarity towards the fitness, diabetes, and meditation apps among the users. Following a system thinking approach for our results, this paper also explains the causal relationships between the accessibility and acceptability of mobile health applications which helps the healthcare facility and the application developers in understanding and analyzing the dynamics involved the adopting a new system or modifying an existing one. © 2018 Elsevier B.V.Item Factors influencing E-learning adoption in India: Learners' perspective(Springer, 2021) Vanitha, P.S.; Alathur, S.In the era of electronic-learning 3.0, existing dimensions related to technologies and learner are not adequately explored while discussing e-learning adoption. In the current study, technology and learner dimensions are converged to overcome this insufficiency in analysing e-learning adoption. Earlier studies have reported less about e-learning adoption in higher education through the users' lens. System parameters and learner attributes were derived from theories of information systems and literature on learning theories. To validate the research model, 704 responses were collected through a questionnaire survey from India, where e-learning is gearing up. The present article utilised Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), which describes the relationship between constructs in the research model. The study identifies technology and learner dimension factors that influence e-learning adoption in developing countries like India.
