    A semantic approach to text steganography in sanskrit using numerical encoding

    Steganography is the art of hiding a message within another so that the presence of the hidden message is indiscernible. People who are not intended to be the recipients of the message should not even suspect that a hidden message exists. Text steganography is challenging as it is difficult to hide data in text without affecting the semantics. Retention of the semantics in the generated stego-text is crucial to minimize suspicion.This paper proposes a technique for text steganography using classical language Sanskrit. As Sanskrit is morphologically rich with a very large vocabulary, it is possible to modify the cover text without affecting the semantics. In addition numerical encoding is used to map a Sanskrit character to a numerical value. This helps in hiding the message effectively. Moreover, in this technique, a key is used for additional security. The key is generated dynamically and is appended to the final message to further add security to the proposed method. The proposed method generated stego-texts with syntactic correctness of 96.7%, semantic correctness of 86.6%, and with a suspicion factor of just 23.4% upon evaluation. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019

    An improved mechanism of leaf node identification for radial distribution networks

    Optimal operational & control aspects of distribution networks have been a thrust research area in academics as well as in industries since last two-three decades. In day to day practice, every one of us uses services offered by public utility distribution networks namely, water distribution network, electrical power distribution network etc. Operational topology of power distribution networks are radial in nature and hence are termed as radial distribution networks (RDNs). Network reconfiguration has been exercised as one of the prime and widely adopted approach for operational, maintenance and control activities of an RDN. Since last two decades, researchers have been using evolutionary computation based techniques (Genetic Algorithm [1], Simulating Annealing etc) for optimal network reconfiguration. The choices of network topology for the specific purpose/application requires a careful analysis of its merits and demerits. In RDNs, the ultimate performance of a specific network topology is usually assessed by an iterative algorithm known as Load flow analysis (LFA) and its execution results in estimation of voltages, currents and losses profiles which in turn decides, whether the obtained network topology is good or bad. Thus, an obvious need is in favor of developing a conceptual frame work for faster load flow algorithm especially to meet near real-time operation requirements. In this paper, a simple and computationally efficient method for terminal (leaf) nodes identification is presented and thus, by integrating this subroutine in LFA definitely leads to an efficient and faster LFA algorithm. © 2011 IEEE.

    One of the prime factors for the success of the internet is determined by the time taken to load a web page. Even a difference of a few hundred milliseconds in the response time will largely affect the number of users of a web page to shift from one to the other. So, in the commercial market, providing quick service to the users is of utmost importance in remaining ahead of competitors. In this paper, we mainly address this issue by applying various optimization techniques at the front-end to improve the user experience by reducing the load time of the web pages. Though the overall optimization is purely web page-dependent, the optimization techniques not only reduce the time taken to load the page, but also reduce the load on the server.

    In this day and age, smart phones are fast becoming ubiquitous. They have evolved from their traditional use of solely being a device for communication between people, to a multipurpose device. With the advent of Android smart phones, the number of people accessing the Internet through their mobile phones is on a steep rise. Hence, web browsers play a major role in providing a highly enjoyable browsing experience for its users. As such, the objective of this paper is to analyze the performance of five major mobile web browsers available in the Android platform. In this paper, we present the results of a study conducted based on several parameters that assess these mobile browsers' functionalities. Based on this evaluation, we also propose the best among these browsers to further enrich user experience of mobile web browsing along with utmost performance. � 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.

    Secure music sharing with improved potato system using cryptographic techniques

    In recent years, availability of digital content over cyberspace has grown exponentially, which can be found using both legal and illegal means. The wide spread availability and access to Internet and also the relative ease of sharing content illegally has made music piracy a big menace. Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems have been introduced to restrict and control the unwarranted consumption and illegal utilization of music. Most publishers depend on DRM to prevent regulation violations, thus hoping to nip piracy in the bud. The Potato System was one such system wherein the aim was to achieve better optimization in legally distributing music content. It is based on an unique idea designed to motivate users to buy a song first, after which he can further sell it to others legally, thus allowing him to earn money for every song he sells. However, there are some drawbacks in the original system, which we aim to address in this paper and propose an improved version. In our system, we encrypt the transaction details in the file itself and make it tamper proof. Also, each user gets his unique copy of music every time he pays up for it. � 2015 IEEE.
