    Game Theoretic Approach for Electric Vehicles Charging Solution: A Study of the Interplay between Time, Price and Location

    Due to their potential in lowering gas emissions, the number of Electric Vehicles, which are eco-friendly, has rapidly increased in recent years and they have achieved immense popularity, creating a lot of interest in the industry and research. But, finding a Charging Station during critical low battery situations is a difficult time for Electric Vehicle users. In an Intelligent Transport System, the goal of each Electric Vehicles is to choose the Charging Station with the lowest cost by taking into account the location, charging rate, and other parameters whereas the goal of a Charging Station is to maximize its revenue by increasing its price based on the number of vehicles waiting in the Charging Station. We employ a multi-leader multi-follower Stackelberg game model to interplay between the Electric Vehicles and Charging Stations, in which location, waiting time, and price factor are considered as parameters. To find the best CS for EVs we formulate our own cost function by considering real-life parameters like the distance of the EV to the CS, waiting time at the station, time to charge the battery, price of unit charge, state of EV charging. The performance of the proposed approach is demonstrated by experiments with different EV densities, their need (units required to charge the battery), and preferences.     Hot dip aluminizing of 9Cr-1Mo steels and their heat treatment

    Coupons of 9Cr-1Mo steels of type SA 387 Grade 9 class 2 were hot dip aluminized using Al bath at a temperature of 700 �C for 30 seconds. The samples were further heat treated at 750 �C for durations of 1, 3 and 5 hours, respectively. The samples were characterized using X-ray diffractometry, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The investigation showed that as coated samples contain an aluminum top coat, a reaction layer and substrate material. Within the reaction layer, two distinct regions corresponding to Fe2Al5 and Fe4Al13 were identified. Chromium up to 2 at% was observed. After heat treatment Al coat was not existing. Two distinct layers, corresponding to a thick Fe2Al5 and a thin FeAl were observed at shorter heat treatment duration. Under longer heat treatment durations, multiple phases, namely, Fe2Al5, FeAl, Fe3Al and solid solution of Al in Fe were observed. � (2015) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

    Performance Analysis of Hybrid MPI and OpenMP on Smith-Waterman Algorithm

    In the rapidly advancing field of bioinformatics, sequence alignment is a pivotal task for elucidating genetic statistics and evolutionary relationships. As the volume and complexity of biological data continue to grow, it becomes imperative to employ effective computational techniques to manage this expansion. The Smith-Waterman algorithm is a key tool for sequence alignment; however, its performance can be constrained by the substantial size of contemporary datasets. To overcome this limitation, this paper explores a hybrid parallelization strategy that integrates message passing interface (MPI) with open multi-processing (OpenMP). This approach aims to significantly enhance the algorithm's efficiency by leveraging the strengths of both parallelization models. By optimizing the scalability and execution speed of the Smith-Waterman algorithm on advanced high-performance computing (HPC) systems, the hybrid technique not only improves performance but also enables more rapid and accurate biological data analysis. © 2025 IEEE.

    Perspective analysis of assistive robots for elderly in India

    Purpose: Assistive technology for elderly are advancing, and this study aimed to analyse the Indian perspective on utilising assistive robot technology for aiding elderly individuals. Materials and Methods: A population-based survey was undertaken to collect data from three perspectives: Relatives of the elderly, Healthcare professionals and Elderly individuals. The survey gathered 389 responses. The responses are statistically analysed, and data is visualised with different plots for better understanding. Results: It is observed that the older people rate with less conviction on the use of technology when compared to the relatives and healthcare professionals. Out of the three target groups, the elderly individuals had the most correlating attributes to purchasing the robot. Also, healthcare personnel, relatives, and older people gave 82%, 63% and 55% affirmatives to the question on purchasing the robot, respectively. And the cost of the robot is preferred to be under 6 lakh rupees. Conclusions: Though the younger generation has more orientation towards technology, older people are skeptical about handling computer gadgets or robots. However, there are significant expectations and concerns expressed by three target groups such as conversational, navigational, reminder features, security and malfunction concerns. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.
