Can we visualize equity and sustainable development without Inclusivity?
(Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology, 2022) Kirupa Priyadarsini, M.; Kumar, S.
The study followed a descriptive research design to assess the employee readiness for inclusive workplaces that permit transgender. The sampling method used is cluster sampling. 185 enterprises were contacted for collecting data through the structured questionnaire, out of which 152 respondents from 79 companies have participated in the research study. To test the hypothesis, Partial least square based approach was adopted. WarpPLS version 8.0 was used for hypothesis testing. The research attempted to address the stigma in the minds of the employees, to accommodate transgenders at workplace. Results demonstrated that the co-worker and senior management support was influential in reducing the stigma of peers and helped in accommodating transgenders in the workplace. Using sensitization programs and creation of structural measures, the team succeeded in placing nine transgender employees in the textile unit. © 2022, Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology. Empowering Engineers for Research Careers – Role of Undergraduate Research Experience and Institutional Support
(Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology, 2024) Kirupa Priyadarsini, M.; Saraf, P.K.
Promoting a research mindset among undergraduate students is crucial to fostering a culture of inquiry, critical thinking, and innovation. HEI’s impetus on research at undergraduate levels has garnered increased attention in recent years across the country. For India to make a mark in research, especially in publication at an international level, HEIs must recognize the value of a research-oriented curriculum. The paper attempts to study the effect of undergraduate research experience and institutional support among engineers on research mindset and the impact of research mindset on career aspirations in research. The study followed a descriptive & relational research design. With a theoretical background of expectancy-value theory, four study variables were identified through literature: Undergraduate Research Experience (URE), Institutional Support, Research Mindset, and Career Aspirations in Research. Final and Prefinal year engineering students from tier 1 and tier 2 engineering institutions were the target respondents. Validated scales were adopted and used to collect data. The hypothetical model was formulated and tested with three direct effect hypotheses and indirect effects. Structural equation modelling (covariance-based method) was administered to prove the theoretical framework. Opensource GUI Software, Jamovi, was used for this purpose. The test results indicate a positive impact of URE and Institutional support on research mindset, and research mindset has a positive impact on career aspirations in research among engineers. Suitable suggestions and recommendations follow. © 2024, Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology. All rights reserved.

Nurturing Research Mindset through Undergraduate Research Experience (URE) and Mentoring in Engineering Institutions
(Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology, 2025) Kirupa Priyadarsini, M.; Kumar, S.P.
Engineering research in India in its current state highlights the need for a research on the impact on Research Experience (especially at the Undergraduate level) and Mentoring Effectiveness on research mindset. The comparatively low percentage of scholarly research, the introduction of 4-year research degree and a direct PhD call for inculcating a research culture and research mindset at the undergraduate level of engineering education. For students to imbibe a research-oriented mind set, it is essential that there is effective mentorship, their research experiences are enriching, with development of research skills, and leading to personal and professional growth. This research study carried out with engineering students in the final and prefinal years attempts to measure all the five constructs measured above and tries to assess the interplay between the study variables. The sample size was 215 and data was collected using a structured and validated instrument. Suitable hypotheses were formulated and a conceptual framework was designed. The data was analyzed using the smart PLS software tool. The results indicate that out of the seven hypothesis formulated five were accepted. URE had an impact on a student’s research mindset, through research skills enhancement and personal and professional development. Mentoring effectiveness had an impact on the research mindset through development of research skills. The indirect effect of different paths in the conceptual model were also tested. The study results led to drawing insights for improving research mindset through the improvement of research experiences and effective mentorship. © 2025, Rajarambapu Institute Of Technology.
